If you’re considering renting with Ascend Property or Simple Life, think twice. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Key Issues: 1. Uninhabitable Property Ignored for Weeks: On 12/11/2024, the bathroom in my rented property became completely unusable, making the house uninhabitable for my family, including two young children. Despite reporting the issue immediately and following up daily, no proper action was taken to resolve the problem until I was forced to vacate the property on 22/11/2024. 2. Refusal to Adjust Rent: Even though the property was uninhabitable from 12/11/2024, they are refusing to refund rent for this period. Instead, they’ve tried to claim that having a working toilet and sink somehow makes the property habitable—completely ignoring the fact that basic showering facilities were unavailable. 3. Misleading Communication: They repeatedly gave vague, misleading responses, delayed solutions, and shifted blame. Despite quoting terms in the tenancy agreement that support rent adjustments for uninhabitable conditions, they outright refused to acknowledge their responsibility. 4. Stolen Personal Items: During the period when their contractors accessed my property to investigate the issue, items from my garden were stolen. Despite me raising this with them, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. What They Offer: They tried to placate me by waiving minor charges for repainting, while ignoring the bigger issue: they charged me for a house I couldn’t even live in! They even suggested I file a complaint with TPOS—more delays and no accountability. Conclusion: Ascend Property and Simple Life lack professionalism, transparency, and basic care for their tenants. If you value fair treatment, proper communication, and habitable living conditions, look elsewhere. I hope this review warns potential tenants about the kind of treatment they might face with this company. They prioritize profits over people and show no urgency in resolving critical issues.

I am a landlord whose property are let by Ascend and have not had any response from them despite sending several emails over the past couple of months, since November. Prior to this they were responsive. I've called the office several times but there is never an answer. I even called a sister office in Liverpool where I spoke to someone who emailed my request onto the team but still have had no response. I'm questioning whether they are still operational or legitimate? Now having issues with rent being paid and the correct amount. Any other landlords having similar experiences? Kindly share so we can investigate further. May have to escalate my complaint to the property ombudsman.

My experience with this letting agent has been top tier from start to finish, they have been there for every need and have managed to help in every situation. Big thanks to Lee at Ascend who has gone above and beyond with everything he has done while we have been staying in our property and has gone above and beyond when helping me and my housemate. Very slow to resolve any problems. This includes reports of mould. Will rinse you of your deposit.

My review is purely for Emma, she has been amazing and responsive throughout the whole letting process, answering any question clearly and promptly. I cannot fault her, hopefully I will continue to have a good journey with ascend 😊
