No one bothers to answer the phone. Clearly understaffed. They also try and push you to use their own mortgage brokers and solicitors whilst adding referral fees to solicitors costs which increase the price! They tried to force me to use their referred solicitors, I then found out that this would have cost me an extra £300 PLUS VAT so £360. This meant that Edward Mellor would have received £300 from me, WHICH I THEN HAD THE PLEASURE TO PAY TAX ON!!! This is an extremely unscrupulous practice and I am talking to a Solicitor friend to see if it is legal or not. Either way I'm really disappointed as I thought there was a duty of care, or at least common decency expected as a consumer buying my first house! I hope that this review is read and acted on as I feel the extra fees are a breach of trust when Edward Mellor is already earning many thousands of pounds in commission from the house sale and mortgage commission. As mortgage brokers also they are meant to adhere to Consumer Duty, which clearly has not been followed here. I hope improvements are made and am willing to amend my review if a sincere response is received detailing the action plan. If not I will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman and Openwork Mortgage Network which they are part of.

The sale of my property was a very complicated process taking 7 and a half months. I can honestly say that out of all the people involved in this Tracey was key in providing me with the really helpful support which made a huge difference and most importantly made the sale of my property possible. It is unusual for me to leave reviews but without doubt if I had not had her knowledgeable, professionalism and really effective guidance throughout the process the sale would not have completed. We had excellent support from this estate agent through the stressful process of selling our house. The team at Edward Mellor are really well coordinated and everybody that we dealt with was always friendly and helpful. Amy who did our valuation and brochure was knowledgeable, professional and explained everything very clearly. We chose this agent because of Amy's transparency, honesty and integrity. We worked with Hailey through the process of offers and negotiations and then getting to the point of exchange and completion. Hailey really went above and beyond in answering our queries and communicating with our buyer when their solicitor wasn't responding. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she always got back to us when she said she would. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend Edward Mellor Estate Agents. I have used them in the past to sell a previous home and they were very quick. I approached Amy Hatton at the Stalybridge ranch and she came up to the apartment very quickly. Amy was very informative, efficient and pleasant. She answered all our questions and then took photos and valued the place in the same meeting. The apartment was put on the market the day after and sold in 3 days. Extremely good work by all the girls in the office. I would highly recommend them.
