Keenans estate agents in Rochdale are an outstanding company. They were friendly and informative from the very start. Friendly polite service from all the team and were very quick to respond to any queries that I had. My property was sold in less than a week and I was kept up to date with all of the processes. It was an absolute pleasure to use their service and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to sell or buy a property. Many thanks to all the team.

The team from Keenans were fantastic from valuation through to completion. Jack was always available to chase any concerns and great service from Abi and Emily made the process smooth and as stress free as possible. Have no doubt we will use again and recommend to anyone looking to sell

Avoid This Letting Agent and Landlord at All Costs Having moved frequently for work, I’ve dealt with many letting agents and landlords over the years—but this has been by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. From the start, I was misled about the tenancy length. I was told a 6-month contract was standard and would be renewed. However, when the term ended, I was informed the landlord only wanted a rolling monthly contract—again described as “normal.” Then, in December, I was served notice, losing valuable time to find a new place due to the holidays. It felt like I was used to house-sit and pay rent for a year, with no intention of a long-term let. Had I known this, I never would have moved in. The apartment was filthy when I moved in—hairs in the fridge and microwave, old milk caps stuck to glasses, tea stains on the walls, and thick dust around the bed. It looked abandoned. The landlord paid for a cleaner for just two hours, which barely made a difference. I spent four hours cleaning the kitchen alone. If I had left it in that state, I’m sure my deposit would have been withheld. The flat was listed as “furnished,” but that included the landlord’s personal belongings—even used bed sheets. I was left with random planks of wood and sheets of glass. I packed up four boxes of their items, but they refused to collect them, citing lack of storage. I had to store their belongings myself. The apartment was cold and drafty. The Juliet balcony doors let in freezing air, but no one believed me because the landlord’s contractor visited on a calm day. The bedrooms were significantly colder than the lounge, and the en suite radiator didn’t work. I was asked if it was “essential” to fix it—of course it was—but it never got repaired. Several lights flickered or didn’t work at all. The letting agents never responded to emails or returned calls. The only time I heard from them was when rent was a few days late—despite me asking four times to change the payment date to align with my payday. I reported multiple issues and received no response. The landlord moved back in before my tenancy officially ended, while some of my belongings were still in the flat. It then took nearly two months to get my deposit back because the landlord ignored all communication and needed to sign off on the release. There were a few individuals at Keenans who were helpful, but overall, this experience was appalling. I’ve never written a review like this before, but I strongly urge others to avoid this letting agent and landlord.

As first-time buyers, we were hoping for a smooth experience. James, who showed us around, was lovely and really helpful. Unfortunately, communication after that was slow — it took nearly three weeks to confirm a second viewing, and the offer letter had the wrong price. We were initially told the vendor might consider temporary accommodation, which later changed without clear communication. When we chose to withdraw, we were met with a surprisingly harsh response. A bit more understanding would have gone a long way.
