Move Opps Ltd Estate & Letting Agents

I wasn't going to write this however feel as though I'm left with no choice. Me and my now ex partner rented a house in January 2023 via Mike at Move Opps - initially communication was good and things were going well until the owner found out we had discussed some issues in the house with our neighbours in conversation - we was then subjected to an abusive message saying we were not to speak to them about this and it was extremely unprofessional. I then separated from my ex and left the property quickly due to the situation - which my ex made Mike aware as did I the day I left requesting to be removed from the tenancy. I emailed numerous times requesting the return of my half of the deposit to be able to use this towards a new house and recieved a reply stating he would need to go to the address to speak with my ex and would let me know. He did not let me know, I continued to email over the space of a week explaining how desperate I was to recieve this back and explained my circumstances, and I were completely ignored. I then had to speak with the DPS (deposit protection scheme) and they advised me I should be returned my deposit - I had to list a reason which was personal to me and my circumstances as to why I wanted it returning. Mike the owner, after approximately a week and still no response to any of my emails, released my deposit then chose to share this information with my ex when it was already a volatile situation due to the separation, which again is extremely unprofessional and concerning, given my circumstances and the fact there was children involved. Most recently I have been informed by my ex partner, that he has discussed my personal circumstances with her including telling her I wouldnt have been able to keep the house without her in it due to me failing referencing (I was a student at the time when we initially rented the property) something I had never been informed of????? I'm absolutely disgusted with the lack of empathy shown towards me and my children in a difficult situation, alongside the lack of professionalism. Our rent was always paid on time, we spent money on modernising the house and new carpets etc and in the end I was treated like a piece of rubbish. Would not recommend Move Opps to others.

Stayed in one of the properties Mike Quinn manages in Manchester for almost 2yrs. And he was the best!! Always available and responds immediately to any requests or complaints. Always professional, yet friendly and warm. I will miss being his tenant😂. Highly recommend💯

I used Mike to manage my property for 16 months and literally I had no issues. Made the process easy and not stressful. He managed the property, arranged any checks and repairs for me. Exactly what you need. When I sold the property, the process was easy and arranged everything. Would highly recommend and would use again. Many thanks Mike for all your help

Our experience with Move Opps was fantastic. We lived in our property for 2 years whilst at university, and Mike could not have been more helpful and understanding. Fantastic agent and genuine person. I would absolutely recommend Move Opps to anyone - a much better housing agent in comparison to other student companies such as Mistoria, who were only interested taking as much money as possible. Move Opps were brilliant, and the only reason we couldn't stay with them after university is because we moved out of the area.
